The "Be Right Back...in July EP" by Tokyo Metano x iRoc Omega was somewhat of an appetizer for their debut album released on July 20th, 2023 entitled "StereoAtypical." And with the help of Gucci Mane, Cam'ron, Juicy J and Jadakiss, the Japan and US vagabond were in grind mode to get their brand in circulation before they served the main course.
Tokyo Metano is a Japan based producer, composer, songwriter, and topliner focusing on Hip Hop, Reggaeton, R&B, Pop, and the entire spectrum of Dance music. He gained popularity in his country producing theme songs for major music programs and social games. iRoc Omega is a former Universal Music Group subsidiary recording artist, who has previous works with everybody from Snoop Dogg, Miguel, MC LYTE, Busta Rhymes, Devin the Dude, Scarface, Kurupt, Erick Sermon, Ne-Yo, etc. His live performances boasts sharing the stage with the likes of Kelly Rowland, Outkast, DMX (R.I.P.), E-40, Paul Wall, SWV, Warren G, 112, and many more.
The unlikely duo met by chance via SoundCloud and one propositioned the other to do a project together. The end result is a unique interpretation of rap music infused with elements of true hip hop, the sounds of Japan, and a grittiness that only real life experiences in streets on US soil can provide. Atypical mannerisms collide with a presumed stereotype and crushes that theory on July 20th with "StereoAtypical."
