Personal growth. Rebirth. Revolution.
These transformative principles are the heart of what Soraia is. These redeeming themes inform the songs on their albums "Dead Reckoning?" (2017), 'Dig Your Roots' (2020), single 'Tight-Lipped' (2021), and the upcoming album release, "Bloom" (2022).
Signed in 2016 to Little Steven Van Zandt's Wicked Cool Records, his garage rock label stationed in New York City, Soraia has continued to tour, grow, and evolve since their first album with the label, "Dead Reckoning".
Bringing their music live across the United States and on to Europe (Sweden, Spain, Germany), they have built their fanbase through their ferocious live shows and accompanying radio play.
As a spiritual descendent of iconic women in rock, such as Patti Smith and Joan Jett, ZouZou's Philadelphia-based U.S. band also embodies elements of kindred spirits of the '90s and beyond — like PJ Harvey and The Kills, with more than a sprinkling of '60s Garage Rock and Soul. Their primal sonic attack spreads a message of perseverance through trials of love, loss and letting go.
Their next single is a fire-spitting cover of The Knack's "My Sharona" recorded while on tour in Stockholm with Swedish producer, Sören Sulo Karlsson. It was released digitally on January 28, 2022.
To quote David Fricke, senior writer at 'Rolling Stone Magazine',
"Searing guitars, burning soul, and true CBGB grit: Soraia is the rock you need in your face NOW!"
