ABOUT SHOW | HIDE

Rui Pedro is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, who has sarted in the music industry as a percussionist, playing some covers band at the age of 22. As a young child, Rui got to explore keyboard with his father who was also involved in music. As the years went by, he tried other instruments such as: flute, drums and percussion.
Unfortunately, in 2015, he was diagnosed with a severe throat cancer (a second time) that took his voice permanently away.
During this hard time and with only 28 years old, he decided to learn another instrument: guitar! And everything starts there.
Without any music education, his learning went through Youtube videos.
He then started to write his own songs, only music, only chords, his day-by-day under chemotherapy and radiotherapy like a telling story. Meanwhile, he had the opportunity to write some songs for a few well known Portuguese artists and perform in many live shows with local bands. During that time, Rui got the power of growth as a musician and all of a sudden, was invited to present his solo-project live in his hometown, "Caldas da Rainha" and that's where "Mute Sounds" was born, in 2018.
Within the same year, he made the decision to take his project to Toronto. Time to get to the next level. Time to move forward. Time to be heard and show the world that music is the expression of a soul, his soul.
This was always a dream, a dream that he fought for.
This is simple as it is:
"I'm Rui Pedro. I'm a musician. I will play for you and won't say a single word.
Welcome to my project "Mute Sounds"."
