Hines is a pianist and composer based in Glocuestershire, England. His music is exclusively instrumental, and is inspired by various musical styles, the most prominent being progressive rock, Western classical, ambient electronic, and jazz. His style emphasises strong melody, recurring themes, unusual chords and structures, and emotional content, and draws on a multitude of different sounds and genres to create varied atmospheres. Because of financial constraints, his recordsing are almost always synthesised using virtual instruments, rather than recorded live. He also produces piano solo versions of all his compositions, as well as a growing number of piano covers and arrangements of pop songs.

His most recent project is a series of four albums inspired by the seasons - "Autumnals", "Hibernate", "Arboretum", and the upcoming "Sun Dances".
