THE RUDE AWAKENING is an intriguing synth act from the UK combining the stark electronic soundscapes of the 1980's with charismatic lyrics and pounding rhythm tracks. Johnny Normal and Bridget Gray create songs that explore emotions, relationships, taboos fantasies and fears.... music that challenges common perceptions and ideals.

Conceived in 2018, the duo immediately made an impact within the independent synth scene with modern classics To Say Goodbye, Fuck Puppet, Emerald Dancer and Your Wetness Is My Weakness... infectious and anthemic electronic songs that people can relate to. Prior to The Rude Awakening, Bridget has been performing with another Scottish electronic band for many years, and Johnny has toured with/supported Adam Ant, Blancmange, Altered Image, Wolfgang Flur. And now, as The Rude Awakening, this duo is a match made in heaven, complete with stark white image and vivid blue eyes.

Their debut album Kaleidoscope was released on 19th January 2019 by Pink Dolphin Music Ltd and the duo have been performing and promoting the album around the UK and France, but are hoping to perform further afield soon.
