Crystal Maxwell Releases debut single 'Come Find Me'
The first few bars give the impression that this song is going to be happy and uplifting but it's deceptive. By the first verse the jig is up.
“The mix of happy sounding music and desperate lyrics match how I was existing. I was smiling and trying to convince myself and others that I was ok, when I really wasn’t. ‘Come Find Me’ is about an inability to move through the grief that’s trapping you. It’s a clarion call to be found and fixed by the perpetrator of your pain,” Crystal said.
Heavily influenced by Nothing But Thieves and The Killers it's not surprising to hear space, ambient and slightly distorted guitars under straight to the emotion lyrics. “I felt comfortable enough to lay it all on the table because I know I'm not the only one who has ever felt this way”.
This happy sounding sad alt-rock track was recorded at Revolver Sound Studio in Perth, Western Australia and was produced by Chris Samakovidis.
