My mother is a professional singer and my biggest inspiration. I realized I wanted to be just like her when I was four. This desire was consolidated when I heard myself on the radio, singing backup to her in her single, ‘Time will Tell’, and I realized I had a calling as an R&B singer. Although I succeeded in various areas of my life, such as athletics, as I was a three-time jump champion and an all-American runner on the track and in the field in high school, music remained my first love.
After graduating from college with a degree in legal studies, I played minor league baseball and had a short stint in a few professional football leagues including a try-out in the NFL. I worked in law enforcement including the Police department, the Department of Corrections in the Probation Division, and the County Jail. I was also an investor in real estate, owning 16 properties at one time as well. However, music kept calling to me and in 2008, I started my musical journey and produced my first EP, Bull Rida.
