Started in 2012 Absent Sunday filled then-empty niche of dark-cabaret scene in Russia. Being influenced by various artists from Kate Bush and Amanda Palmer to Pink Floyd and Van der Graaf Generator the band immediately got its own voice, look, feel and recognizable theatrical performance manner. The combination of piano and violin on the one hand and drums and bass on the other formed Absent Sunday's unique sound with deep female vocal ranging from seducing murmur to anguish cry.
Frequent guests of number of Russian Progressive Rock festivals they are on a good account in InRock - one of the oldest music magazines in Russia.
The band became co-founders of the annual Russian Dark Cabaret festival to support musicians and actors who are in dark cabaret as well.
Absent Sunday's conceptual debut album "Extraversion. Introversion. Perversion" was released in January 2018.
