kurayamisaka is a five-member band from Tokyo, Japan. They are also known by the alternate names kurayami-zaka, sendai-zaka and kyusen-saka. There are various theories about the origin of the name, including derivations from “kuradomi” (“reins stopped”) and “kurayami” (“darkness”). 

Their music is rooted in indie rock, but has notable shoegaze and 90s alternative rock influences.
