East Meets West consists of two songwriting members and friends from Germany, Australia, UK and the USA . Shyonen who was born in Kanazawa , Japan and Don Shafer who was born in Cincinnati , Ohio USA . Shyonen’s career has included playing John Lennon in the Japanese Beatles tribute band at the Cavern Club Roppongi, Tokyo Japan . He’s also played for the British and Australian Embassys in Japan after competing in the Sony/Yamaha song writing contest. Don has played professionally across the US and has opened for such artists as Joan Jett, Montgomery- Gentry and Beatles 64 (Broadway Tribute). Shyonen and Don met at the independent music site Mixposure. Shyonen and Don started talking and collaborating on songs after finding out they had much in common, including their admiration and love of The Beatles and their music. The driving force behind their music is based on their beliefs of Family, Love and Peace.-
