Japanese duo Pasocom Music Club blur retro sounds with modern electronic touches to create dizzying dance tracks balanced between the underground and the pop sphere. They’ve captured attention for their own eclectic songs and live shows, while also writing and producing for an array of other artists in their home country. Even though the pair gravitate towards ‘90s synthesizers to make the base of their sound, they continually find new angles on familiar instruments. The group, consisting of members Aoi Shibata and Masato Nishiyama, emerged from Osaka in 2015. Initially creating jaunty originals and covering songs by pioneering electronic artists such as Yellow Magic Orchestra, Pasocom Music Club caught attention for a sound nodding to the past but sounding of the moment.
