White Hall, St. Thomas, Jamaica based Singjay Dennis Taylor aka “Rum Plzzz” is an up-and-coming reggae performer straight from the cut of other reggae greats. With an immense talent and versatility, Rum Plzzz will kick down the doors of the music industry with ranges of styles that cover the entire spectrum of reggae: from today’s contemporary reggae, old school, and even pop. Whether dancehall, Roots, Culture, or contemporary, Rum Plzzz seamlessly transitions from one style to the next without skipping a beat.
Rum Plzzz was born on May 8th in White Hall, St. Thomas, Jamaica where he also grew up. His interests in music began in high school when he started writing poems and songs and began to entertained friends and family. Shortly after leaving high school, Rum Plzzz interests in music took on a more serious tone as he began to hone his skills and talent by performing for friends and family; it was this experience that gave him the confidence and the awakening that he wanted to entertain people through music. Rum Plzzz is musically influenced by all the great reggae artists over the years but the “Cool Ruler”, Gregory Isaacs has the most influence on him.
In December 2021, Rum Plzzz was introduced to Trevor "TC" Clarke, producer and owner of Jafrika Records, who produced his first single "60 Quarts" which is a Jamaican vibes party song that is all about enjoying oneself with friends and that Jamaican favorite drink. His other singles on the Jafrica label includes “Journey” which chronicles is life struggles, “Far Away” which talks about the jealousy and bad mind that exist throughout society, “Columbian Necktie” which is a gangster song, and “Chop It From E Bank” which is about making money. Others songs like “Careless Touch”, “Poil Up”, “Far Away” and “Bangles” are in the works for the coming months.
Guided by faith and his experiences, Rum Plzzz will mature as an individual and as a musician. He is a tired less warrior who looks forward to a bright and promising future in the music industry as a performer. With his confidence, determination, hard work, and guidance from above, Rum Plzzz will continue to inspire, motivate, and entertain reggae fans throughout the world and will definitely be a major force in Reggae music for years to come. While most people see the sky as the limit, Rum Plzzz sees no such barriers and hopes to take his music to new heights.
