Karl Hugo is proud to present his new single titled "Twinkling Stars of Hope" on March 1, 2024. He composed and performed this scintillating music by combining taikos, shakuhachi and koto with piano, voices and orchestra. The single is available on all digital platforms.
During the Great East Japan Earthquake that happened on March 11, 2011, city lights went out, revealing a comforting myriad of twinkling stars. Figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu and choreographer David Wilson suggested that Karl Hugo take inspiration from this event to create a hymn of hope that would serve as the opening of Notte Stellata, a show for the benefit of the victims of 3.11.
Karl Hugo is a pianist, performer and composer principally known for his solo albums, his work with figure skating champions such as Kaori Sakamoto, Shoma Uno and Riku Miura & Ryuichi Kihara as well as his role in the international success of Just for Laughs Gags aired in over one hundred countries.
