SOL DEMENSEON was the love child of two high school students who wanted to bring pop music to the world. Signed to their first recording deal at the end of completing year 12 studies in Melbourne, SOL DEMENSEON entered the recording studio for the first time and recorded a cover version of "Black is Black" (Los Bravos first released the single in 1966) and this was released on Australian Independent Label, Colossal Records.
"Black Is Black" immediately became a nightclub favourite. At the end of the campaign, the band took a hiatus to complete university studies & reformed four years later with a new line up and a new recording. "Safe Sex" was recorded and released as the next single in Australia and New Zealand, whilst a management deal was signed with a prominent company.
The "Safe Sex" campaign was released with personal appearances from AJB's long term friends Julian Clary, Hugh Jelly and Pamela Stevenson. The "Safe Sex" campaign was SYNCED by the Australian Aids Council and used as the promotional tune for all Aids Council TV commercials and educational materials.
SOL DEMENSEON would record and release two further versions of "Black Is Black" in Australia and London with BMGs dance division Scratch Records. AJB and the band were fortunate enough to score a recording contract early upon their arrival in London. Von Studios in Islington was selected as the recording studio and John Sherwood (PM Dawn, Culture Club) was appointed executive producer for the recording of the next two commercial singles, "Does Life"remain the same and a further EDM version of "Black is Black" with a live mini band including Sax. The band travelled around the UK, Scotland and Ireland promoting the singles and supported many UK dance acts and performed sell out shows at many dance venues across London & Manchester.
SOL DEMENSEON were approached to headline at the World Aids Day concert, and this was the perfect opportunity to promote the next two singles, "Calling Your Name" &, "The Land of Make Believe". After living in London for five years the band decided to part ways to focus on solo projects.
SOL DEMENSEON have reformed and changed name to SD2 (Sol Demenseon2) and have signed a three-year recording contract with PM RECORDS. Following on from the release of their first greatest hits album, SD2 return to the charts with the first single to drop from their comeback album REVIVAL (Step Back In Time), a 2022 version of the hit that started it for them all those years ago, "BLACK IS BLACK".
SD2 chose to work with celebrated U.S producer Nate Kohrs (Kylie, Mark Ronson, One Republic), who came on board to create and manage the SD2 comeback project as executive international engineer & producer, rearranging & recording the monster tracks into exciting nightclub fillers whilst recreating the radio versions to comfortably slot into current day playlisting.
