All American Recording Artist/Musician Kirk Kobos was born in Texas. Kirk Kobos is his birth name, the original, the real deal, will party with you and shred guitar with legato guitars solos, has been playing guitar since he was a kid in the mid 70's at a very early age, Kirk worked in his dad's mechanic shop/ machine shop business, and in his early teens crafted a Guitar whammy bar out of car parts, was one of kirks first custom work on a guitar. The curve on the stock whammy did not allow much range so the new one allow much more control and could take the strings all the way to 0 VBPS. Around the same time Kirk made a amp in wood shop, that he would play outside on the school blacktop where a large crowd would gather, as Kirk would use oddities like a wrench, or bottle on the guitar to make unusual noises while playing his favorite Black Sabbath, Billy Gibbons, Rudolf Shenker, Jimmy Hendrix, AC/DC, Akira Takasaki, Montrose/Hagar songs & Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, George Lynch, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Gary Moore solos.
In 1983 Kirk Kobos, and his band “Alloy” a Metal band, played for 1,000 + kids as Kirk’s first paid gig, with drummer Matt Harris, and bass Matt Heartz.
In 1984/85 Kirk Kobos played with metal band Crimson Steel, with Singer Eddie Ellis, Mike Patton aka “Randy”, and ian from Washington state. When the band split, were in Olympia Washington, Kirk and Eddie went back to Idaho, then split, Kirk to Los Angles, then Fresno, and Eddie went back to Hawaii and joined band “Sapphire Syn” and won Hawaii battle of the bands.
Kirk joined band Crimson steel, in the 80’s where Kirk and band went from Idaho to Washington for the music circuit but was short lived, as the band broke up and as drummer now front-man; Mike Patton ”aka stage name Randy “ disappeared.
Later our Singer Eddie Ellis transitioned to a new band Hajji’s Kitchen was signed with Shrapnel records in the early to mid 90's.
"Kirk Kobos" a music major studied music all through Jr High, High School, and College. Began teaching guitar in college late 80s, working on many solo projects writing guitar instrumentals for classical guitar, integrated with metal music, studying at that time Carl , ( you gota know what the bird's sayin!) Haas. Kirk has played with many bands and band members, Rodney Honeyman in Fresno California, Doug Pellerin of “OTEP” Bakersfield, Frank Gambino” Bass player from, Bakersfield.
Kirk toured with an award winning college choir in the late 80’s, the material was mostly focused around Gregorian older classical music, but did include more popular song Phantom of the Opera ( With Dean Simple).
Kirk Kobos has written many songs, solos, popular lyrics, and continues to record new songs, solos, music videos and cartoon videos, which can be heard on itunes, YOUTUBE "Kirk Kobos", and "Kobos Customshop" site.
In 2006, Kirk Kobos started a brand of guitar line Called Rock Legend guitars, selling many guitars in 2006, joining NAMM association as a manufacture. Jamming with muisic buddies like Sandy Shafer (Rythem Guitar Bass Player) kept his chops up as he recorded, many of the songs you hear on this site.
Kirk has continued designing and building guitars and now are available in rare quantity mostly custom built. "Kobos Customshop"
