HAZY WEEKENDS
Melodic power pop from the beautiful west coast of Sweden.
Magnus Sorensen and Marcus Bohm are the two guys behind the brand new duo Hazy Weekends. Both of them have a background with other projects; Marcus comes from the indie band Kyte and is still active with the Swedish group Marcus Bohm & the BANG! and Magnus was the lead singer of Suburbia and can also be heard in his solo project Magnus Sorensen & the Captains Inc. The two of them started writing music together in the trio Crossing Memory Lane and that's where the idea of Hazy Weekends was born.
Hurricane, which is also the title of the first single, is a melodic pop tune that has a little touch of Big Star and Fountains Of Wayne, but the sound of Hazy Weekends has never been planned or predetermined, but has mereley emerged by itself as a result of the collision between two different musical backgrounds. They both think it feels better not to set any particular frames or rules when it comes to sound, but to keep an open mind and be free to just chase down any crazy idea that pops up and see where it leads.
