YOASOBI is a Japanese male-female music duo composed of Vocaloid (voice synthesizer software) producer Ayase (who does not reveal his real name) and singer-songwriter Ikura (real name Rira Ikuta). The group has released songs based on short stories posted on Monogatari, a website operated by Sony Music Entertainment Japan, later also from various novels and book tie-ups. 

The two teamed up as YOASOBI in late 2019, with ‘Racing Into The Night’ as their debut single. The song deals with suicide and the short story animated video became a nationwide hit and has more than 213 million views on YouTube.
