The Hipster Image - Sax/Vocals - Colin Cooper (d), Bass - Tony (Dirk) Durkin, Sax/Vocals - Frank Proudlove, Piano - Eric Leese and Drums - Keith Webb (d).A hot mod band of the mid-'60s discovered by Animals managers Mike Jeffries and, in one 1965 release single, produced by Alan Price, they managed to become a major band on the London club scene without ever charting a record. Already established around Keele University, the group put two soul numbers on a flexidisc record at the university, which got them into a recording studio in London. Typical of Decca's judgement, B-side, "Make Her Mine," was the better of the songs and a popular club single. Despite these breaks, the band ultimately broke up, their four surviving songs have since emerged on CD, and "Make Her Mine" is an acknowledged classic. From Anorak Thing Blog 'Cant Let Her Go' is a somber mod/jazz type record. The vocals are mellow, there's so cool sax on the intro and the guitars/piano perfectly accent the lead singers.

Fast Forward to 2020 and the music is back! A new song True, recorded in 1965, hidden in the vaults of time, is the first of several hidden gems previously unreleased until now during 2020/2021. Out in 2021 is 'Look For My Girl' written by Frank Proudlove/Eric Lease and 'Baby Its You, performed and recorded by The Hipsters in the 1960's.
