Able was formed in the university town of Uppsala, Sweden, and released two albums in the 90’s in the US, Asia and Sweden. In 2018, they were back with the album “Third” (recorded in 2001). Able has evolved through the years, but the soul of the band has always been Johan Gille’s songwriting, based in classic pop songwriting. As if the Jayhawks, James Taylor, the Beach Boys, Prefab Sprout, Wilco and Dusty Springfield had been mixed together for a long time, and the outcome is something completely different, yet instantly recognizable.
In 2019, Able released the first new songs in over a decade, starting this summer with the single "Another/Talking" and culminating with the album "Holding On/Letting Go". The band members are: Johan Gille (vocals, guitar, etc.), Jonas Olsson (guitar, vocals, harmonica), Malkolm Bonander (drums, vocals, piano) and Mattias Jonsson (bass).
