Obsidian Monolith is a 4 piece melodic death metal band based in Melbourne, formed in 2016. The band is characterized by a dark and melancholic sound, followed by virtuoso shredding, heavy vocals, fast paced drumming and atmospheric orchestrations. The songs carry a message of negativity towards humanity in which nihilism is a main theme.

Obsidian Monolith has been playing live since 2017 in the Melbourne’s extreme metal circuit and released their heavy melancholic 4 track ep 'The Descent' on multiple platforms in June 2018.

The band is currently recording their full length album entitled "Manifest". The new album is heavily influenced by black and doom metal keeping all the signature sounds that defines Obsidian Monolith into it.
