The two members of this Chicago four-piece new wave band went to a Kraftwerk concert in the fall of 1981.
*Kraftwerk is a German electronic music group known as the Multimedia Electronic Project. Over the years, they have influenced many artists in many ways, and the New York Times has described them as "the Beatles of electronic dance music."
On the way home, they decided to fire their drummer, buy some analog synthesizers, and become Chicago's first techno-pop band.
They were able to fit all their gear into a single, dirty old suitcase, so they were euphemistically called "The Band in a Suitcase."
For three years, Scarlet Architect played as opening acts for bands around the world and as headliners at most of Chicago's top clubs.
They released an EP album independently. The single from that album, “Rose Grey”, was in the International Rock Pool Top Ten for ten consecutive weeks.
Thanks to this ranking, several tours in the Midwest, and students who brought the album back to their home countries, the band gained a cult following on a global level.
The band broke up before the release of their debut full-length album in 1984. Their new album, “Eternal Return”, includes many songs from that album. All tracks have been remastered.
The new album is available on a limited edition of 300 LP vinyl records. It is also available as a CD and download, which includes two bonus tracks.
