UPFUL WORD SOUND - RAS TAFARI IS NO GIMMICK ! ! !

Izes-I is a Dubwise/Rootz, artist with a Hip-Hop, flare born and raised in Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York City. Residing in Jamaica for many years amongst Ones and Ones in the Ras Tafari Community, has contributed to her conscious lyrics and harmonic melodies based on her trod and everyday liv. Izes has been described by many as a breathe of fresh air to the music industry in general and has the reggae community talking, although she is not a reggae artist, per say.

From adolescence she had a high talent for sketch art drawing, creative writing and poetry. During the highlight of the Hip-Hop era, Izes I wanted to be a dj but her mother discouraged it. In the late 80's, she was influenced by the Last Poets and had the honor of being amongst Abiodune at his Sunday house sessions in Harlem. Her shyness prevented her from performing her poetry at open mic nights at places she frequented such as the Nuurican Soul Café and Café Wa.. Izes I hung out at many dancehall clubs in Brooklyn such as Biltmore, Rondevous, Sticky Mics in the city, as well as the exclusive Hip Hop spot in Manhattan: the California Club.

As a young adult she began traveling to Senegal & the Gambia, West Africa. Then later, to various Caribbean Islands, as well as Europe. At her call to Ras Tafari, she was instructed by H.I.M. to go to Jamaica where she resided for many years amongst Ones and Ones of no particular mansion, Nyabinghi and the BoBo Ashanti Order. Empress Izes is an active member of the Ethiopia Africa Black International Congress (E.A.B.I.C.) and the Women's Freedom Liberation League (W.F.L.L.) which is all about Freedom, Redemption and Repatriation through the Salvation of King Emmanuel Charles Edwards, the Black Christ in Flesh.

Her sounds have been circulating around Dubwise communities worldwide, being acknowledged for the conveyance of reality and ancient remembrance. Known as the first lady of Chop Chop Productions, her and CEO Hon. John Marcus I, commonly known as “Fadda Chop”, linked up with the intention of spreading the culture and principals of Ras Tafari thru upful word, sound and power throughout the earth 4 wings via music. “Fadda Chop was and still is my first teacher physically in Ras Tafari (after the King H.I.M.self). Before I even started trodding bingy, he taught me many things first, some of which I didn’t even overstand at the time.", Izes recalls. Schooled in the Jerusalem School Room at the Foundation (10 Mile Bull Bay, St. Andrew, Jamaica), she utilized her holy-days, to build herself in the principle heights of Queen Omega. “I definitely had to purge out some ways and negative self belief, doubt, etc. I also learned to stop rate and follow people who not worthy. When you open your heart and go within, you’ll be amazed what’s waiting there for you”, Izes humbly admits.

A serious song writer, she started recording music and Executive Producing in her home studio, “Studio 7”, in 2020 in Atlanta, Georgia; under the mentorship of Fadda Chop, who Founded Chop Chop Productions in Judgement Yard of August Town Jamaica in the 90’s. Although he has contributed to productions for a large majority of the Ras Tafari recording artists in Jamaica, he has also worked with dozens of local and international artists of all genres for more than twenty-five years. “I’m honored to be under his wing. Fadda Chop is a master teacher on every level of existence. Jerusalem School Room and the love thereof, is intertwined in everything they create together. Writing song lyrics is poetic so it just comes more naturally to I.”, Izes admits. Many things influence the creative lyrical style of Izes I, Ras Tafari, self-love, love amongst INI and nature in general. However, she was most heavily influenced musically/literally by: The Last Poets, Jamaica Kincaid, Bob, Dennis Brown, Midnite, Kalonji, Blastmaster KRS-One, Ms. Lauryn Hill, PeteRock, DJ Premier, the One..Fadda Chop and the musical genius Fyah Koal, the Clark Sisters, Sade and Omar Pen.

Izes-I has been penetrating the Dubwise world with her first single “PROTECTOR (Remix)” situated on the Protector Riddim; produced by Fadda Chop and mixed by the musical genius FyahKoal Music; released on Friday, March 12, 2021. Her EP, “DESTINY” will be released on Friday, June 11, 2021. The EP will be distributed on BANDCAMP and later on via streaming platforms. Producers who have contributed their talents to this project are: the musical genius FyahKoal Music, Emilio Zangger and of course, the “One”. Fadda Chop.
