NURK began with songwriter and singer Erick Kittelson. As a teenager, he played Christian rock in small-town Texas. Then he became a missionary in Warsaw, Poland where his mind was blown by music and film and books and art (and visits to Berlin).
After that, he migrated to Austin, Texas, playing with the beat pop group the Shim Shams, every member assuming an alter-ego, and so NURK was hatched. The core of the outfit later morphed into the psychedelic pop of the Seas. As NURK he also struck out solo, touring around Europe. As well, some fellow musicians from national acts and he formed the alt-country side project Fancy Ladies
Next up, he spent some time in Korea before settling in Spain. In Madrid he met new musical brothers, as well as re-connecting with some back in Austin. More touring around Europe both solo and as a full-band followed, as they made various recordings.
