Formed in 2018, downcast carve out driven melodic bursts of infectious emo/pop-punk laced with truly heart-wrenching lyrics and a poignant delivery.
By the end of 2018, downcast were armed with their engrossing self-titled EP. The record picked up warm praise from Kerrang! Magazine, Moshville, Maximum Volume Music and Punktastic. It re-ceived airtime on Kerrang! Radio's Fresh Blood show, courtesy of Alex Baker, as well as BBC Ra-dio, courtesy of Adam Walton.
Their forthcoming single "catharsis" will be available on all major platforms soon. "catharsis" is about being in a relationship with a toxic person and not realising the severity of their abuse until you've left the situation. The line "I always wondered why the songs I love didn't sound the same when I was with you" refers to someone wearing you down to the point where you don't even enjoy the things that used to make you happy.
