My sound research takes place in solitude, thinking, creating and freeing oneself from the masks used to approach the others. It is also a process based on the removal of all technical and physical limits to one's own communication means, so as to find silence, a privileged condition to act in.
My solo research is based on the idea of the clash between images I have experienced or simply seen versus my emotionality as a man, as well as between the technique and the scream versus their incapability to coexist or with their utmost ease to be one single entity.

At the age of seven I have started studying clarinet, and I was not such a disciplined student until I was fourteen. As I turned sixteen, music has become my life... Or, perhaps, music has saved my life. My teacher was Gaetano Zocconali, a controversial and not so famous person, even if many musicians, who have been trained in Rome over the last thirty years, know him very well. Harry Sparnaay was my teacher too. He has invented contemporary bass clarinet, and I owe Mr. Sparnaay a lot, in terms of knowledge, attitude and personal growth. Lawrence "Butch" Morris also trained me in the approach to teaching, to the gesture, to the love for the moment, as only a great Maestro could do. I am a sort of self-taught saxophonist: I have played a lot and in the most diverse areas, often drawing lessons from my mistakes. Ethnic music made me travel throughout the world, contemporary music made me challenge my limits, jazzcore has paved the way to my political thoughts, improvisation is the source of my highest artistic and emotional experiences.
